Today, Ezra decided the bathroom needed cleaning. He has informed me that when he grows up he wants to be a "cleaning man". He begged to do the toilet until I showed him how. Maybe I can assign him that job from now on. I wonder what other cleaning jobs I can give him...

There is a satisfaction in seeing something come clean before your eyes. But I tend to get bored and have had enough effort-making after a while. But Go Ezra!!
I have this idea about getting my kids to clean. Its based on forbidding them to do it until they are "big enough" and have passed a special test in order to gain their licence. I'm thinking, dishes licence, vacuuming licence, feeding the animals licence. etc.
I'm not sure how sound my reasoning is, but it seems to me that the allure of restriction might make them more keen? It might even be that they clean as a form of disobedience [which of course I would have to be very upset about]. I'll let you know how that one went in about 18 years or so.
