Summer rain

Inspired by my Sister-in-law's recent blog post I have been looking through some old photo's of my own.  In March 2008 our family walked across the dry bed of Lake Wendouree in Ballarat.

Many 'experts' were predicting the lake may never be filled again.  We visited it a few weeks ago when we were in Ballarat.  This is what it looks like now.

The second picture is taken from the shore which is visible in the background of the first one.  The swans which can just be seen in the second picture (far out in the water in the middle) are about where we were standing in the first one.  It was beautiful to see the lake full again.  The birds have returned and there were babies everywhere.  Even the paddle boat man has returned, but I didn't get a photo of him.

There are cygnets everywhere. So cute! P.S. some of the fairyland walk is still blocked off... hehehe. Now they just need to mow the lakeweed.
